I was 33 when I had Charlie in 2010. ( nearly 34)
About one week before I had charlie, I had what I call ‘back labour’.
One the day I woke up with contractions at 05:45, contractions were every 10 mins or so but no regular pattern, I used a tens machine at home to help with the pain.
I called the hospital who told too wait until they were every 5 mins, but got to 9am and I could not stand the pain any more, but yet again told to wait, so I waited until 12, then got Mike to call and think they had, had enough of me calling and said I could go in.
When I got to hospital, the midwife examined me and said ‘your only two centimetres’ your going to have to go home, err no way I said, I will have a c section, I can’t take this anymore, luckily she got a second midwife to examine me, and I was actually 8cm.
Only and time for gas and air, and at about 16:00 I was ready to ‘push’, I had to have a episiotomy was told I tore as well and by 17:11 Charlie was born. He was 8lb 10oz, so a big baby seeing I am on 4ft 11.
So as birth story’s go, I think this was a good one.
